Anxiety Treatment

Unfortunately anxiety disorders have a high prevalence in the UK. According to Champion Health, in any given week in England, 6 out of every 100 people will be diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Mental Health UK states that at any one time, over 8 million people struggle with anxiety in the UK.
Needless to say, anxiety is therefore a major problem in the population and requires treatment at times to support the individual. However, Mental Health Foundation suggests that 50% of people with generalised anxiety disorder do not access treatment. Anxiety disorders consist of a range of different presentations, including Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Social Phobia, GAD and Health Anxiety, for example.
Our therapists at Mynd Care Psychotherapies are trained in a range of different modalities to treat and support people presenting with such issues. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an evidence based treatment model that can very effectively support clients with a range of anxiety disorders.
We pride ourselves on adherence to the evidence base, increasing access to support in particular for people who may be less likely to access support (such as people from BAME backgrounds), providing thorough assessment/treatment for anxiety and other disorers and recognising obstacles to treatment/engagement.
Treatment for anxiety that we specialise in consists of, but is not limited to Exposure Therapy, Exposure and Response Prevention (for OCD), Cognitive Restructuring, Psychoeducation, Behavioural Experiments and other, evidence based treatment models.
